WASHINGTON, 26th May. j Japan replied to-day to the Ameri- ■ can anti-war treaty proposals, agreeing to participate in negotiations among th© six Powers for such pact. The reply was acceptance of the American draft. The Japanese pointed out that their right- of self-defence and their commitments under existing international agreements must bo protected in any pact they sign, but suggested that these provisions need not be written into tho treaty. •
