BURGLARS FRUSTRATED
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post") AUCKLAND, This Day. The noise of a heavy explosion was hoard by a number of Takapuna residents early on Saturday morning, and when tho premises of R. and W. Hellaby, Ltd., butchers, were opened for business it was found that burglars had mado an unsuccessful attempt to open.' the safe by means of explosives. There ■was very little money in the safe, as the practice of the branch manager was to deposit the day's takings elsewhere. Although a fairly strong charge ■ of explosive had evidently been packed on the front of the safe, the door wag not moved.
