TRENTHAM TRACK MOTES
It was bright and fine, with a keen wind, at Trentham this morning, and the tracks were in very fair order, for not so much rain has fallen in the Hutt Valley as in the city. There was not a great deal of fast work and all there was was done on the trial grass. Dancing Star finished in front of Tcheka over five furlongs in lmin 5 sec, tho former going well. Black Mint and Eing Boy were companions in a seven-furlong gallop. They were not but to make time, Ring Boy appeared to be going better than his companion. Eotowhoro and Mandarine galloped seven furlongs in lmin 34sec. Kindle, Carrigallen, and Handsome took lmin 21see to run six furlongs, with Kindle in front at the end. Royal Damon showed plenty of dash when sprinting home at the end of his work. . . Lady Gay is going wt?ll and showing plenty of dash. She should be a wellfancied candidate in the hurdle race at Otaki. Eoyal Game and The Dove' galloped from the mile post to the half-mile at a good swinging pace. Eoyal Game is very well at present. After tho main work was over Corf was brought out and galloped the reverso way. This is necessary owing to his vagaries on the track.
