WELLINGTON HARMONIC SOCIETY.
The first concert of tho season of the AVcilington Harmonic Society will be given in the Town Hall Concert Chamber next Wednesday, at 8 p.m., when tho choir of fifty voices, under the conductorshlp of Mr. H. Temple While, will contribute a miscellaneous programme, among tho numbers being "The Lee Shore" and "From the Ureen 'Heart of the Waters" (Coleridge-Taylor), "Moonlight" (Faning),1 ".Terusalem" .(Parry), ."The Cruiskeen Lawn," an Irish melody arranged by Bantock, and a festival carol, "King Out-, Wild Bells" (Percy Fletcher). , Tho society will havo the assistance of Mr. Harisoii Cook (bass), whose numbers will be "The Wanderer" (Schubert), and "Tho WitchDight" (Addison Price), and Mr, Leon de^ Manny, who will play the violin solos, "Romance" (Wieniawski), "Hymn to the Sun" (Rimsky-Korsokoff-Frauko), and "Mazurka". (Mlynarski). The Harmonic Society lias become noted for the excellence of its programmes, and Wednesday's will be quite up to the past high standard. The society is dependent upon the support of the public, and appeals to all music lovers to enroll as subscribing members. Prompt application for enrolment should be made lo the address given in the advertising columns.
