THE CURATE BLUSHED.
The' squire's pretty daughter was examining the village school children. "Now,' children, can you tell me what a miracle is?" The children looked at one another, but ■remained silent. "Ciin no one answer tin's question?" asked tho new curate, who was standing behind the squire's daughter. A little girl was suddenly struck with a brilliant idea. She held up her hand excitedly. . "Well. Jessie?" asked the squire's daughter, smiling approval. ".Please, miss," the child replied, breathlessly, "mother says 'twill be a miracle it you don't marry the new curate."
