Coltman, added that the accused said he had just come out of hospital and wanted the money immediately as ho was leaving town. ■Acting-Detective Kearney produced a statement in which the accused admitted the four offences," and said that he had obtained the blank cheques from the bank by representing tlmt he had aii . account at one of tho bank's branches. A' plea of guilty was entered, and the accused; for whom Mr. W. E. Leicester acted, was committed to the Supreme •Court for sentence. Bail was refused. The hearing of a charge of failing to comply with the terms of his release on, probation was deferred until after the accused'was dealt with at the Supremo Court. '
