SHIPPED VIA LONDON Cnltcd Prc33 Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Kcccivcd 26th May, 11.13 a.m.) * LONDON, 25th May. An interesting development is tlio exportation'from London this week of 6558 boxes o£ New Zealand apples to Brazil. The Australian Press Association . umlerHtands that the Union Cold Storage Company purchased them at current market prices and shipped'4ooo cases to Santos and •'550 to Kio tie Juniero by the Blue Star liner Avila. Before the Panama Canal opened direct shipments used to be made from New Zealand to South America from New Zealand. The apples. always realised excellent prices. If pie present shipment is equally successful others may follow, as the meat carriers returning from Argentina offer an abundance of refrigerated space. Traders here would welcome further exports to South America as it would relieve the congestion in England. Shipments of New Zealand fruit via Cape Horn to Buenos Aires have been made continuously. The Blue Star is a. "Vostey Line."
