PRICE OF LAMB ADVANCED.
Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London agents*, dated 25th May:—"Frozen meat quotations (prices on a "delivered" basis, i.e., including storage charges, cartage, tolls, etc.): Down lamb, 28-42, 10 l-8d per lb; best North Island, 28-42, 9 7-Sd; ordinary North Island, 2S-42, !) 3-Sd; second quality lamb, !) 5-Sd; best North Island wethers, 48-64 7d, 04-72 li 3-8 d; ordinary North Island wethers, 4S-G4, C 3/id; North Island ewes, 5 3-Bd, 04-72 5Ud; New Zealand prime ox beef, 160-220, 4 7-Sd. As compared with last week's quotations, Down lamb and best North Island lamb is %d per lb higher, ordinary and second quality, laipi is l-8d per lb higher. Ewes and wethers, all weights, are %d per lb higher. Prime ox beef is %d per lb higher. The market is very firm al Iround, and the indications are that a further rise j« quite possible."
