EMPIRE DAY IN AUSTRALIA

SYDNEY, 24th May. .Empire Day was celebrated .in . tho city and all the country centres by patriotic gatherings addressed by Cabinet- Ministers and loading citizens. The gathering in the city was held in Martin place, where a great crowd assembled and was addressed by the State Governor and the Acting-Prime Minister. Similar demonstrations were held in all the States.
