m. » c °PemnS of the Wallaceville Gun Club s season was held on Saturday afternoon in fine weather, and a fairly large attendance- of shooters and friends was present. Declaring the season open, the president (Mr. W. Smith) declared that the object of the club was to' foster the sport of trap-shooting, and subscriptions were therefore kept down to a minimum. The first shot was then fired by Mrs. T. Skippage, and the -matches proceeded with. Some of the new members, several of whom were making their first appearance at clay pigeon shooting, shot remarkably well. The detailed results were as follow:—The' first match of ten birds was won by S. Tisdall off the 17yds mark, with a score of the possible. J. E. Cave (21yds), A. Caldwell (11yds), and W. Smith (9yds) tied for second place with 8 breaks each, and then came C. G. Pearse (17yds), H. Morris (15yds), L. Russell (9yds). 7 breaks; .E. W. Pearse (17yds), B. Martin (9yds), R. C. Swanson' (9yds), 6" breaks; W Donovan (22yds), A. Dennisson (20 >:dsl> *• Skippage (20yds), 4 breaks; E. J. Witcombe (11yds), 3 breaks. A novices' match, shot from the 9yds mark, was won by E. Stroud after shooting off with L. Russell. The scores were: E. Stroud, L. Russell, 5 breaks; G. Lewins, -k Skippage, C. E. gwanson, R. Martin, 4 breaks; I. J. Whiteman, R. C. Swanson, E. Russell, 3 breaks; —. Barker, 1 break; and E. Russell, no breaks. As the light was failing the last shoot was cut down to Aye birds, and resulted as follows:— A. Dennisson (20yds), J. E. Cave (23vds), ■£• W. Pearse (17yd5),.5 breaks; W. Smith (11yds), E. Witcombe (11yds), 4 breaks; A. Caldwell (13yds), 3 breaks; H. Morris dSyds), T. Skippage (20yds), 1 break. Afternoon tea was served during the afternoon.
