When the last ease of fruit for export was loaded in" Hastings on Tuesday, the total for the season had reached 162,00!) apples and 32,826 pears, giving a grand total of 194,835 cases, a total which approximately equals the quantity exported during the past five years put together. Of the total 21,000 oases were dispatched to South America. The varieties exported (in round figures) were as follows:— Apples: Delicious 37.000, Stunner 35,000, Jonathan 35,000, Dougherty 20,000, Dunns 13,000, Cox's Orange 6000. Pears: Winter Nelis 14,000, P. Barry 10,750, Josephine 3000, Winter Cole 2000.
