The Prime Minister returns to Wellington from Auckland to-morrow. The Hon. W. Downio Stewart (Minister of Finance) returned to Wellingj.ton yesterday from the Auckland district. • • According to a Press : Association cablegram from Sydney, Mr., Bernard Gotlieb is a passenger by the Makura, proceeding to Wellington to take up the duties of United States Consul. . The Hon. K. S. Williams (Minister of Public Works), while on an official visit to the Waikato district, received I information of the serious illness of Mr. T. S. Williams, of the Gisborne district, and had to cancel his appointments in the King Country. A vote of sympathy with M. and C. ! Brownlie, of the New Zealand- Eugby team now en route to South Africa, was passed by the New Zealand Union's Management Committee last evening. Advice was received at the meeting of the death last week of a sister oi the well-known footballers, Miss Grace Brownlie. I A Press Association message from Dargaville states that the Prime Minister had a busy day in Dargaville yesterday. From 9 a.m. till 2.30 p.m., with only a brief respite for luncheon, he was attending to deputations, both private and public. In the afternoon he delivered an address at the unveiling ceremony, which was performed by Mrs. Ooates, of the Soldiers' War Memorial Band Eotunda, erected at a cost of nearly £300 by public subscription in memory of the men from Dargaville who fell ill the Great War. There was a very large attendance of the public. The Prime Minister left shortly after the ceremony for Paparoa, in the southern portion of the electorate, where he delivered apolitical address. He leaves for Wellington, via Auckland, to-day.
