LETTERS

Dear FairioJ, —Three oi' the other children in our street, and my brother and I, had a concert'on our front lawn List Saturday and lots of our friends came to see it. First of all we recited and sang or danced, and then we acted a little play called "The Magic Primrose." It all went off very well, and afterwards J\summy gave us cakes and biscuits and lemonade. The next morn ing I found a fairy ring--- all covered with, dew and inside .were several fairy seats. I think they must have been dancing for joy at the success of our concert, don't you'Fairielf. On Wednesday, if it is as fine as today, we are going round to Oriental Bay, and we shall have our lunch on the rocks, and then Mummy will sit on the rocks and read' while I 'hunt for shells. ■ .Won't'it be nice, 'Fairiel? I made the story aud the verse quite out of my own head, and the verse is as true as true. They wore such dear little pussies that I fell I must make up a poem ebout them, so I did. Dear .Fairiel, —On Easter morning Mummy was still in bed and we went out into the fowl-run and luckily there was one egg. So we tried the way you told us, and it came out to a" beautiful yellow colour. Now I am going to tell you some things we have with wheels. We have a trolly four wheels, and I have a bike two wheels, a man's bike two wheels, a, lady's bike two wheels, and a motor-car with four wheels, and a rabbit that hops on four feet. Love from JAMES. James Crocket, Levin, ... Dear Fairiel, —The other day I found three pretty toadstools. The colour of the top part was scarlet with white spots, and the under part was like, white velvet. They were much bigger than the toadstools and mushrooms we find round Khandallab. The biggest was ,eight inches high. Tho smallest was only three inches high, with a pretty red top and a f4t stalk.
