Commander Fitzmaurice, chief of the Irish Free State Air Force, has received permission to accompany the Germans, replacing Spindler, who has gone. home. Commander Fitzmaurice was rejected early in the war on account of his youth, but succeeded in enlisting and fought at 'the Somme. Ho obtained a commission and transferred to the Boyal Air Force in 1917. He joined the Free State Air Force in 1922, and i<- now commanding officer.
