FRENCH RESERVATIONS
■MB. KELLOGG PUZZLED Australian Press Association. WASHINGTON, 7th April. Mr. F. B. Kellogg, Secretary of State, has stated that he is experiencing difficulty in clearing up several vague points in tho. last French Note regarding the proposed war renunciation treaty. He has -emphatically denied the published reports that in recent conversations with M. Olaudel he expressed general approval of the four French reservation* as such, or advanced them merely as suggestions for strengthening tho projected treaty. Further discussions with M. Claudcl may clarify ambiguity. In that event, and if a general agreement on conditions can be reached, another American note would be unnecessary. Instead, the United States and France would formally present to Britain, Germany, Italy, and Japan tho correspondeneo which has passed between them, accompanied with an invitation to join negotiating a treaty.
