SYDNEY, This Day^ The Btcnmer Iron Chief, stranded near Diamond Head a week ago, was badly battered by the week-end southerly and broken up. Her crew of thirty-three and a salvage party of nine were rescued yesterday through the courage and resourcefulness of a Canulen Haven launchman named Haynatz. Ho rowed single-handed in a small dinghy from tho launch to the wreck, consulted the latter'e master, and then returned .with a launch, which was then skilfully taken alongside, and despito the heavy seas rescued all hands.
