-«. ANNUAL CONTEKKVOK The twelfth aimusil conference'of the New Zealand Lab.our Parly was opened l.his morning at the Dominion farmers' Institute Building. About 120 delegates from all parts of tho Dominion are in attendance. . . In welcoming the delegates tho President (Mr. 11. Scmple) expressed tho hopo that tho decisions of the, conferenco would strengthen the machinery of their organisation and the bonds of industrial and political unity. They had before them, he said, a stupendous task, and each and every one should endeavour to be as big as the task. Mr. Scmplc went on to criticise at some length the present Government, as reported under separate headings. The report of the Parliamentary Party, which gave a detailed review of the last session, stated that the session was the longest on record, and probably the most barren in practical resultt.'.'A feature of the debate and divisions was the manner in which the Liberals ranged themselves on tho side of tho Government and against the Labour Party. Tho hours of the conference were fixed at from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. To-morrow evening the visiting delegates will bo-entertained by the Wellington Labour . .Representation Committee.
