A NEW MEMBER
COURT OF ARBITRATION MR. G. T. BOOTH, CHRISTCHURCH Nominations closed on Saturday for the position of employers' representative on. the Court of Arbitration, in place of Mr. William Scott, who recently resigned. The only nomination received by the Labour Department was that of Mr. George. Thomas Booth, of Christ- • church, who has hccn duly elected. Mr. Booth will act for the balance oi1 the existing term of three years, that is until February, 1929.- ' Mr. [Sydney Evelyn fright, secretary of the Auckland Employers' Association, has been elected to the position of deputy employers' representative on the Court. Mr. Booth, the newly-elected member or the Court, has had long experience of conducting a, manufacturing business, that of Messrs. Booth, Macdonald, and Co;, Ltd., farm machinery and implement manufacturers, Christchurch. and has acted frequently for the employers in connection with disputes before the Arbitration Court. Mr. Booth also has filled many public positions with satisfaction to those he represented, and at present is a member of the Christchurch Tramway Board. Hia wide business experience is backed by a knowledge of economies and of the principlos governing finance and trade. Tho executive of the New Zealand Employers' Federation consider that it is fortuntae for employers that the services of a man of Mr. Booth's attainments are available. Mr. Wright, who will 'act as Mr. Booth's deputy, has also had a long experience of labour matters, and has appeared before the Arbitration Court on many occasions.
