l'ruulices , will commence on Tuesday evening next at St. John's Schoolroom, Dixon street, when Mendelssohn's "Elijah" will be put into .rehearsal, Mr. John Bishop, tho new conductor, will bo present, and will take the practice, It is intended to wclcomo Mr. Bishop on Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, prior to the practice. His Worship the Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup, who is a vice-president of tho society, will be present. AU those who possess voicoH are given an opportunity of joining the chorus. Though the musical test applied to new entrants is strictly adhered to, it is thought that in a largo population hucli as that of this city^ there are probably numbers of good singers who would gladly join in the society's work. Mr. Bishop will be present at 7,20 on Tuesday evening for the purpose of testing voices. L
