FOUR MILLION
4. UNEMPLOYED IN AMERICA (United Press Association.—Copyright.) NEW YORK, 7th February. A Labour Bureau group of statistical research workers connected with labour unions here announces its estimate that four million persons are unemployed in the United States to-day, or io per cent, of those gainfully employed. The bureau claims that tho situation is serious and merits investigation. The figures have no official authorisation. It is interesting to note that Governor Smith has begun an investigation of the unemployed position covering the whole of the New York State.
