Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of the 19th January:— "Lamb. —New Zealand prime North Island, 28/36, lid; do., 3C/42, 1094 d; d 0.,, second quality, 9%d. Market weaker; demand limited. Australian lamb: G.A.Q. Australian lamb, 28/36, Sd; 3rd Australian lamb, (kl; market dull and declining; demand runs principally on finest qualities. Frozen lamb: A further decline is expected as stocks increase. Mutton: New Zealand prime North Island ewes, 48/04, sd. Australian mutton: F.A.Q. Australian mutton, 30/55, sd; market unchanged; demand is quiet. Beef: Argentine chilled hinds, 6'/2d; fores, 4V4d. Pork: English porkers. 80/100, lOd; N.Z. porkers, 80/10Q, 8d; N.Z. porkers. 100/120, VAd; N.Z. baconers, 120-170, 6'Ad; N.Z. baconers, 170 and over, 6d."
