"ROSE MARIE."

The musical play, "Rose Marie,' winch took London by storm and broke all records in Australia has come to New Zealand at last, and will be staged at the Grand Opera House on Friday, 27th January. Of this production it has been written: Two souls with but a single thought, two hearts that beat as one. Tho3e requisites of romance are provided by Rose Mario and Jim Kenyon, excellently played by Hariet Bennet and Reginald Dandy. But in addition there are forty-eight souls with but .1 single thought, ninety-six feet that beat as two. These are the property of the ballet in tlio very remarkable Totem dance, one of the most beautiful and inspiring features ever presented on the stage. Whether the dancers are engaged in the most intricate movements, they work with a precision nothing short of marvellous. Whether suggesting the gradual curve of a breaking wavo, or going through other evolutions that leave them at last lying motionless on the stago like a great mass of gaudy flowers, all is done with uncanny correctness. The company comprises Miss Harriet Bennet as Hose Marie, Miss Stephanie Deste as Wanda, Miss Yvonne Banvard as Lady Jane, Mr. Reginald Dandy as Jim Kenyon, Mr. Frederick Bentley as "Hard-boiled Herrrian," Mr. James Hughes as Sergeant Malone, Miss Doris Johnston as Ethel Brander, Mr. George Bryant as "Black Eagle," Mr. Lou Vernon as Emilc La Flarmc. Mr. Noel Allan as Edward Hawley. The box plans for the season will be opened at the Bristol on Wednesday morning next, for 12s Od (plus tax). Bookings only. Country orders, accompanied by remittances, will be dealt with in the order of their receipt.
