WIRTH BROS.' CIRCUS.

As a form of entertainment the popularity of the performances of Wlrth's Circus Is well demonstrated. The combination is always sure of a good reception when It appears in Wellington, and at the second performance last night the continual thrills of the long and varied programme left one rather breathless, and made one wonder at the immense amount of preparation necessary for such a short period of performance. Each and every item is excellent, and it is hard to differentiate. Lions riding on elephants was one of the amazing exhibitions, followed by Mademoiselle Gulnare Hoyer entering the lions' den and dancing among these beasts. It requires not a little nerve to perform a turn like that, and yet many similar exhibitions were presented. Bears walked on stilts, and rode rocking horses and bicycles; beautiful horses performed the daintiest of tricks. Acrobatics and juggling, trick cycle riding, and feats of strength by the strong man were some of the other items. The whole show is well produced, and should prove attractive to young and old alike.
