Whilst iv conversation with "Bow" on Tuesday last (states the "Southland Times"), Mr. F. J. Ashley, secretary of the Riverton Regatta Committee, stated that a member of the executive had put forward a suggestion which could with benefit be taken up by the controlling body in New Zealand. The suggestion was that some controlling body, such as the N.Z.A.E.A., should tako all orders for boats from the clubs and have them imported from the manufacturers. This would dispense with the various clu'os requiring new boats having to write individually to the manufacturers, and would relieve them of an unwelcome amount of responsibility. The Worsor Bay Club's annual, which is set down for Anniversary Day, is sure to bo. the popular fixture it usually is. A splendid programme of events will ho submitted and intending competitors will find that they are well catered for. The life-saving contest for the W.ihler Cup will occupy the morning, session and the swimming events will take up all the afternoon.
