MR. COATES ON TOUR (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DAEGAVILLE, This Day. The Prime Minister came out of his retirement at the seaside on Wednesday and is now engaged on a tour of the electorate, addressing representative gatherings at the main centres and receiving deputations. He expects to complete the tour by Wednesday. At a meeting at Buawai a vote of thanks and confidence was passed, also a motion releasing him from addressing the electors in that portion of the electorate during the next election campaign. On Thursday he will attend the Dargaville races, and on Friday, accompanied by the Hon. A. D. M'Leod, the Hon. O. J. Hawken, and Colonel Allan Bell, member for the Bay of Islands, he will officially open the new road through the Waipoua forest. He will return to Dargaville on the Saturday and on the following Monday, accompanied by the two Ministers mentioned, he will commence a tour of the Bay of Islands electorate. The few weeks spent at the seaside have done Mr. Coates good, and ho is looking very fit and well. At the addresses given he has dealt with matters principally affecting the farming community, such as the Intermediate Eural Credits Act, the proposed subsidy to the pork industry, and the petrol tax as it affects farmers.
