In the Davis Cup tennis trials, the results in tho singles were:—Moon (Queensland) defeated Kalms (New South Wales), 3-6, 9-11, 6-4, 7-5, 6-4; Cummings (New South Wales) beat Rowe (South Australia), 7-5, 7-5, 6-4; Hopman (New South Wale's) defeated Hawk.s (Victoria), 1-6, 6-5, 6-2, 7-5.
