LYALL BAY CARNIVAL.
Tho Lyall Bay carnival will definitely close on Saturday. Every afternoon and evening the spirit of gaiety is much in evidence. Tho miniature railway, tho aeroplaned swings, and all tho other Coney Park attractions aro still very popular, and all the side-shows are crowded by those taking part or being amused by the 'Duckem," "Watermelon Sam," or ono of the other entertainment provided. On Saturday afternoon there will be kite-flying and long-hair competitions, children's fancy bathing competition, as well as a baby show, while in the evenings of this week the dance-tent will be utilised, and a jazz orchestra will be in attendance. On Saturday evening there will bo a Charleston competition. The gala schemo is completed by the splendid lighting effects.
