BATHING FATALITY
GIRL DROWNED AT LYAtiL _»_ About half-past twelve to-day a bathing fatality occurred at Lyall Bay, a ' young girl named. Stella Oeraldine Knight being drowned. She was bath-. ing in the surf with a younger brother '' when both got into difficulties. She and her brother were brought aekore by" the custodian and other* .who .ware . bathing in tho- vicinity. In the eaao of tho girl, who was unconscious, efforts to restore animation failed, and when a doctor arived he pronounced life to be ' extinct. Tho boy quickly recovered. Tho decoased girl was about 14 years of age, and resided with her parent! in Wadestown.
