. The House of Commons was unusually crowded when the debate on the revised, Prayer Book opened. The Archbishops of Canterbury and York.were in the Peers' Gallery. The First Lord of the Admiralty (the Eight Hon. W.. C. Bridgeman) submitted a similar motion to that moved.by the Primate in the House of Lords. '..
After a keen debate the motion for the adoption of the revised Prayer Book was -rejected by 247 votes to 205.
