GRADING AWARDS

The annual conference of dairy factory managers of the Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Forty-mile Bush, and Nelson districts was continued yetserday afternoon at the rooms of the National Dairy Association of New Zealand, Ltd. Mr F. Pedersen (Pahiatua) read a paper on the relations of the factory manager to the supplier, and dealt with both the dairy farmers'- side as well as the manufacturing aspect of the dairying industry, bhort addresses were also delivered by Mr A. Mackenzie, daily instructor, Palmerston fcorth, and Mr. G. Weir, dairy inspector, Yvellington. A number of questions were asked and answered.

A competition in the grading of butter and cheese was held under the supervision of Mr. J. ODea, Chief Government Grader. The results were as follow:-7-Gheese Grading.—F. Pedersen y(Pahiatua) and J. Adams (Collingwood), 98% points each, equal, 1; S. Death (Awahuri), M. H Grace (Kairanga, Longburn), D. M. Adams (Parkvale), A. Gulliver (Tamaki), Haynea (Hopelands), and Jensen . (Woodville), 98 points each, equal, 2. Butter Grading.—J. Mac Donald (Cheltenham) and A. E. Johnson (Rongomai), 98 points each, equal, 1; W. S. Death (Awahuri) and J. Kirwan (Ohakune), OVA points each, equal, 2; H. Whitham (Canterbury Central, Christchureh), A. Drake (Tokomaru), M. X. Rogers (Rangiwahia) and J. Murray (J. Nathan and Co.), 97 points each, equal, 3.
