Tirana is the new capital of Albania, *nd is one of the very few capitals in the world without a. water supply or a railway station.
B»t Tirana has a two-year-old aeroplane service which has never had a casualty, and it has a wireless station. It also possesses many motor-cars. The other day a foreign diplomatist and his wife were driving to Tirana when a man held up their car by levelling a rifle at the motorists. The chauffeur, an Albanian, jumped out and drew a revolver. A lively argument, punctuated by flourishes from the firearms, followed, to the dismay of the foreigners. But in truth the gentleman with the gun was no highway robber, for the chauffeur presently turned to toll his passengers that the stranger only wanted a lift, and thought the best way fo make a car stop was (o point a rifle *t itl
