THE BRITISH TURF
IN NEW ZEALAND EYES
GOOD POINTS AND BAD
(A.P.A. and "Sun.")
(Roceivod 23rd Soptember, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON,' 22nd Scptembor. Mr. J. E. Henrys, handicappcr for sovoral Now Zealand racing clubs, cousidors that tho British Turf authorities aro playing into tho hands of greyhound raco promoters. Ho does not wonder why, in view of tho high' admission charges on racocourses, peoplo resort to the choaper sport. Though Knglish raco tracks aro beautiful, public facilities and prizo money do not compare with thoso in Australia and Now Zoaland, whoro ovcryono can sco tho racing. Tho horses aro, perhaps, superior tq Australasian, but the prices of yoarlings prohibit Dominion owners from purchasing cxtcnsivoly. Ho pays a tribute to tho clean riding of Knglish jockeys.
