,i x-ra s Pcclal meeting of the council of the .New Zealand Golf Association to-day the iollowinß members of the council were pre»ent:r-Messrs. W. E. A. Gill (chairman), A. D. S. Duncan, A. J. Abbott, H. R. Balneavis, Captain Conway aud Sir Alexander Roberts. The meeting was specially called for the purpose of coming to a decision regarding the inspection of the Balmacewan links in view of the resolution of the last annual general meeting at Hamilton. After full discussion it was resolved that Mr. C. H. Redhead, of Rotorua, bo asked to go to Dunedin and report to the council upon the Balmacewan links, as regards their suitability for holding the 1928 championship meeting. With regard to the recent New Zealand championship tournament held at Hamilton, the following resolution, proposed by Mr. A. D. S. Duncan, was unanimously carried: "That the council desires to record its keen appreciation of the efficient manner in which the arrangements in connection with the recent New Zealand championship meeting were carried out by the secretary and officials of the Hamilton Golf Club, and to thank the tournament committee of that club for their ready assistance and co-operation with the secretary of this association."
