POWER SHUT-DOWN
BROADCASTING MAY BE OFF
Early this afternoon there was a complete shut down of electric power, in thai city, due to the development of a fault in. one of the pole installations at Hataitai. This fault had the effeetof giving a dead "short" to tie whole of tha 11,000-volt system, throwing everything out...Trams running again in a few minutes,"'ah3 /lighting; and other ser* vices were restored after a short delay. The fault which caused the whole of tha trouble, however, will take some time to remedy, and as a result it is doubtful whether the changed-over area^of Hataitai will be supplied with "power tonight. As the broadcasting" station is within this area it is not at sill certain that it will be in operation this evening.
