In order to relieve the housing shortage in Lower Hutt, the Borough Council has adopted a policy of building staff houses. Plans of various types of cottages have been prepared. Some of them are similar to the Government concrete cottages being erected in the Moera settlement, and others are planned to suit the senior officers of the council.
