BASKETBALL.
A number of lady members of the Palmerston North V.M.C.A. gymnasium class visited Wellington during the week-end as guests of the local V.M.C.A. gymnasium division. In a basketball match the Wellington team proved superior, winning by 44 to 12. Basketball has only recently been taken up by the Palmerston North girls, and the match was regarded more or Jess as an instructional one. Eepresentative bas> ketball matches will be played next week-end in Wellington, and a match North Island v. South Island will also take place. The V.M.C.A. gymnasium class has three representatives in the Wellington team.
