The New Zealand Dairy Board has received the following market report from the London agency, dated 19th August, with average prices current for the previous week in parentheses:— - ' Butter.—New Zealand, salted 1665, 172s (168s, 1725), unsalted 1725, 176s up to 178s (1725, 1765); August generally poor selling month; forward position sound. Australian, salted 1665, 170s (1665, 170s), unsalted 168s, 174s (168s, 1745); Argentine, finest, unsalted 1665, 170s (1665, 170s); Irish, creamery, salted 1625, 164s (160s, 1625), unsalted 1665, 168s (1665, 168s); Dutch, unsalted 170s (168s, 170s); Esthonian, salted 1635, 166s (160s, 1625), unsalted 170s, 172s (1645, 168s); Latvian, unsalted 164s (1645); Siberian, 1445, 146s (1425, 148s); Danish, 1755, 176s (W6s); better German demand. Retail prices: Danish Is 9d, New Zealand Is Bd, .
Cheese.—New Zealand, white and coloured, 90s, 935-(925, 945); market continuing quiet but firm. Canadian, white and coloured, 925, 94s (925, 955); estimated Canadian production down 25 per cent, this season. English, finest farmers', 112s, 116s (112s, 116s); retail price New Zealand cheese, Is.
