STOCK REPORT.

; Messrs. H. Ernest Leighton, Ltd., report that at their clearance sale, held in Petone, on account of Mr. D. Cameron, of Horokiwi, there was a good attendance, and bidding was keen for the sheep and for any cows close to profit. A good many of the backward cows came forward in very poor condition, and as no calving dates could be given, they were hard to quit. Young cattle in good condition also met with keen competition. The following are some of the prices realised. Crossbred ewes, mixed ages, in lamb to Romney ram, 22s per head. Springing cows, £6 to £9. Twq-year; heifers, £3 10s to £4 10s; young heifers, £2 7s 6d; bull, 325. Sundries sold at satisfactory figures.
