SHANGHAI, 10th August. The Japanese mill owners arc alarmed at the Nationalists' contemplated tax of 13 per cent, oh manufactured goods onforcoablo from Ist; September. The rcvonuo is estimated at 14,000,000 dollai's. A protest meeting decided to send Mr. Funatsu, Director-General of tho Japanese Cotton Mill Owners' Association, to Japan to confer with the Government.. Tho mill owners state that in tho event of the Chinese authorities insisting on tho tax they will suspend work en bloc, ronderins idle 60,000 Chinese labourers. S
