PLIMMERTON INTERESTS.
A general meeting of the newly-formed Phmmertou Progressive Association waa held on Monday. Although the weather was very wet and boisterous there were thirty-five persons present. The rules of the association were dealt with, discussed, and confirmed. After a general discussion on matters affecting the district, a resolution was unanimously carried, that this meeting protest to the Hutt County Council against its extravagant expenditure of rate money on the seawall, and that the members of the Hutt County Council be invited to inspect the' seawall and judge for themselves the absurdity of it. Another resolution was carried calling a public meeting for 22nd August, to protest against the increase of rates and also to consider the advisability of forming Plimmerton into a Town Board. The members of the Hutt County Council, also the County Clerk and the Engineer, are to be invited to attend the meeting.
