Evelyn Maxwell, tlie psychic appearing with Carter tho Great, who, with his company, will appear at the Grand Opera House tonight, claims to receive her telepathic and apparent clairvoyant messages by a silk conductor. She maintains that it required many years to determine the agency of easy reception of thought. Miss Maxwell does not claim supernatural or preternatural aid; yet she sits blindfolded nightly on a brilliantly-lighted stage and, it is said, calls out a person's name and business, sets the day of their marriage or the number of children, if any, they will have. She foretells in rapid sequence events that have happened, or will happen in a person s life, mentions victorious racehorses, and has been known to foretell accurately the winners of important races. Miss Maxwell answers from three to four hundred questions nightly and anyono may write theso on any subject.
