COLDER'S HILL
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —I have been awaiting with some anxiety your report o£ the City Council meeting on 28th ult., when a resolution to change the names cf certain city streets was to be considered. In spite of several strong objections to the above name being altered to one of unknown origin, it appears the council has gone back on its first decision, and proposes to substitute I a name objectionable to many, which has no connection with* the early history of the city and is of no interest to Wellington. Would it not be as well to give pro- J minence to the reasons which have induced the City Council to ignore the wide-ly-expressed wishes of our early pioneers, and lightly to dismiss the historical associations -which surround the locality, and its present name? —I am, etc., „„ , DISGUSTED. Oth August, 1927.
