ASSURANCE FOR KARORI
Tlie \j7orks Committee last night recommended to the City Council that arrangements be made for a poll in connection with the proposed loan o£ £290,800, to be
known as the Street Paving and Public Conveniences Loan, Z927, for the following purposes: (1) Paving streets, £181,000; (2) surface sealing streets, £53,000; (3) forming and paving footpaths, £30,000; (4) public conveniences, £26,800.
Councillor B. G. H. Burn asked for an assurance that out of. the new loan some £28,000 voted in connection with the 1925 £200,000 loan for Karori works would receive preference.
Councillor H. D. Bennett said the work alluded to was probably on the road from the Hutt road to Karori, and would be one of the first works to be done out of the new loan.
