RANFURLY SHIELD
HAWKES BAY CRITICISED
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
CHEISa'CHUECH, This Day. Commenting on the Hawkes Bay threat to go to Court over the Eanfurly Shield, the "Star's" Eugby writer says: "Should the Bay secure the Shield in such a fashion it is very doubtful whether Canterbury would send a team to Napier on 3rd" September to compete for the trophy. Footballers in the South are strongly opposed to an amateur game being dragged to Court, and consider that tho head union's decisions should be loyally accepted, or that the disaffected parties should retire from the code."
