The dodo is an extinct bird o£ Mauritius, which is known to have existed toward the end of the seventeenth century. It was a clumsy, short-] egged bird, unable to fly, and gradually died out because o£ its inability to stand against the animals imported into the island by settlers.
Cigarettes at the rate oC 2000 a minute are turned out by a new machine recently exhibited in London. It is all British.
