REGENT THEATRE.
"A Kiss in a Taxi," Bebe Daniels's latest comedy, will be shown finally tonight at the Regent Theatre. Miss Daniels plays the part of a cafe waitress in Montmarte, who secures for her artist lover the right to have his paintings hung in the most coveted exhibition hall. Chester Conklin heads the strong supporting cast, with Douglas C.ilmore. The vaudeville section of the programme is supplied by Miss Batliic Stuart and her Maori maidens. Good supports are also shown, and delightful music is supplied by the orchestra.
The transformation of a rustic into a polished mau-about-town is witnessed in 'Evening Clothes," which will open to-morrow at the Regent Theatre. This unusual metamorphosis is depicted by Adolphe IKHou, who is C3.sc as Liiclcn , s, £cntlGma.u JTrcncii farmer, who marries a city girl, upappreciative of the beauties of country life. Virginia Valli plays the part of the bride. Realising that his wife can never care for country life, Lucien lets her go on their marriage day, and goes himself to Paris. He becomes tho idol of society. But all his sanguine plans fail, and he finds himself poverty-stricken. Tilings work out all right in the end, but the unusual twist is there. Noah Beery assumes tho humorous role of Lazarre, head over heels in love with Fox Trot (Louise Brooks). The vaudeville portion of the entertainment will consist of two acts, Jeauette Gerrard and the Kegcnt Ballet, under the direction of Sadie Fawcett. Miss Gerrard's novelty surprise act is certain of a good reception. Billy Hart will be heard in vocal numbers with Miss j awectt. Box plans arc now open at th 6 theatre, and tho Bristol, from 10 a.m. daily.
