Speaking at Rapid City, President Coolidgc said that he intonds to pursue a policy of encouraging every city and town in tho United States to establish its own air port He has issued orders to tho Commerce Department and the Aviation Board to assist to promote iv every possible way the creation of suitable commercial landing fields. The President holds the view that the Federal Government cannot appropriate funds for such fields, but will leave their establishment to localities, while the Federal Government will devote itself to the general promotion of aviation.
SYDNEY, 2Gth July. Addressing the Millions Club, Captain Hughes, president of the Australian Aevo Club, said now there were three private air services operating ia Australia. Their machines had made 11,668 flights, a distance of 1,5^1,503 miles had been covered, and 10,467 passengers had been carried, with only two fatal accidents.
