SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
The:brightness at Mrs. J.*/W. :Garrs concert at the Sailors' Friend. Society .on Tuesday was a "big contrast to the gloom outside. The men revelled in the'pbpular programme, and recalled all who'rendered items. The performers were: Mrs. J. W. Carr, the Miases Marjorie Collins, N. Taylor, Marshall, arid Zelma Carroll. Mies Marshall and Mr. J. W. Carr were at the piano. "Held by the Enemy" was the subject of Mr. Moore's temperance chat, and the men readily added their names to the pledge-books. The competitions weer full of fun. The prizes came from the hostess, and tvcnt to the Tamaroa and Hororata.
