LODGE MEETINGS

.The fortnightly meeting of Loyal.Mar« tinborough Lodge, Manchester Unity, J.Q.0.F,, wag held on Tuegday, N.G. Bro. J. llynn presiding over a good attendance. The V.G.-elect, Bro, A, Kaygon, was installed. During the evening P.G. Bro, E. Ellwqod gave an address an his travels in Rhodesia, at the close of which a vote of thanks was carried by scclamation.

The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Sister Walks Lodge, Manchester Unity, w»s held last Tuesday, when there was » good patberjng presided over by Sister D, Allen. One candidate wag initiated. Sister Tobiji delivering the lecture master's charge. Keports were received from delegate* to the Dispensary Board and the Medical In' stitute. Lodge honours were accorded » visiting brother from Wanganui. The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Mm* torton Lodge, Manchester Unity, was held last week, N.G. Bro. L. Bmery presiding over a good attendance. Three new members were initiated. One brother was de> dared on the sick fund. A lodge welcome was extended.to Sister Eichardson, loyal Napjer Lodge, apd Bro, Whittslser, of Hamilton. The offer of a brother to in* Stall electric light in the Jodge-roem was accepted. Keporfcs were received on visits to Loyal Grey town and Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge, Carterton. _ The quarterly meeting of Loyal Wellington Past Grands Lodge, Manchester Unity, was held on Wednesday evening, Bro. R. H. Dorniev (president) being the presiding officer. There was a attendance, including BroA A. G. Shrimpton, grand secretary, and Bra. A. I*. Miller, oi.Wa»ganui. Brp. B. E>ell read a paper on. "The Manner of "Gonductlnj; Lodge Meetings," after which a d,ißC.H^on was ;ente»-ed into. The president expressed members' thanks to Bro. Bell.

A specialmeeting of the; Purple Degree, in cpnneqtioiv-with the Manchester Unity Order of Oddfellows,-was lieid on Wednesday. QYen,ing, when Brq. Q. G. Couper. One sister and six brothers were advanced to the Purple Degree The weekly meeting of Ever Faithful Temple, No. 7,1.0. G.T., was held on Wednesday, fifty members being present, and were entertained by the Hope, of Petonei Lodge. Games and community singing were indulged in, and supper handed round. Sister B. Edney, P.C.T., thanked members: of the adult lodge for -the entertaininent. After the juveniles had depart ed the Hope of Petone Lodge held a short session

Barnard, of Pioneer Lodge, Sis. Cross, V.T,, of Loyal Mejrose Lodge, Sis, Simpson, and Sis. T, Collins, ot Sunbeam Lodge, were present, as was Mr.. Denton. Sis. w. Ckpk, C.T., presided, assisted by Super, jntendent Bro. Trevithick, G.S.J.W. A social half-hour was spent, and supper served.
