WELLINGTON UNION
The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union met last evening, i\lr. J. Prendeville presiding.
Approval was given for the playing of a match at Te Aute on 24th August between a team selected from the University junior and third grade teams and the Te Aute College team. The game is a return one to that played in Wellington about two years ago.
In connection with a request from the Old 803-S' Club for a definition of a temporary transfer,- it was decided to reply that the residential qualification of seven days would be applied in all cases in future.
The Manawatu-Horowhenua Union advised that Sir. James Rya*n had been appointed to act as co-selectcr with the Wellington selector in making the selection of the combined Manawhenua-Wellington team for the trial match at Wanganui. A' letter was received from the Otago Rugby Union stating that the Otago touring team would probably -arrive in Wellington on 2nd September, and would leave on sth September. The team will comprise probably 24 players and two managers.
Several players who were ordered off the field last Saturday appeared before the committee, and were dealt with.
It was decided that the annual match between St. Patrick's College and Wellington College be played at Athletic Park on 3rd August. ' It was agreed tliat senior games commence at 3 p.m., after next Saturday.
